Company History
- The first project which was taken by IEL was the construction of 24 Water Treatment systems along with its allied works on a BOOT basis with the Government of Mizoram. This helped the company develop experience credentials for bidding EPC projects. This project was later sold to the Government of Mizoram before the completion of the BOOT period.
- IEL then entered into PHED Bihar for water treatment and supply projects. IEL built a sample project for honorable chief minister Nitish Kumar to look at who then launched Har Gar Jal scheme across Bihar. IEL had the single most orders in PHED Bihar under this scheme from 2014-2019. These were solar powered mini water supply schemes.
- IEL also took orders of road construction in Bihar 2014, it also constructed an office building for Bihar Power Company and entered into construction of pre-frabricated buildings from BCD Bihar in 2016. However, after completion of all the projects IEL preferred to stay in its core segment of water supply, sewage treatment and irrigation.
- IEL the proceeded to enter Madhya Pradesh in 2016 working in UADD department and then MP Jal Nigam in 2018 (Jal Jeevan Projects) and then MP UDC (ADB Funded Projects) in 2022. These were all conventional treatment plant schemes with all its allied works.
- IEL also entered into Maharashtra for conventional water treatment schemes in 2023 and is a Class A empaneled contractor in MJJP which consists only of a few contractors.
- IEL has also carried out a small sewage treatment project in Jharkhand and has built certain components of an ETP plant in Andhra Pradesh.
- IEL also has projects in Assam and Rajasthan however these are small projects and have been subcontracted to smaller parties.

Core Areas of Operation
- Whilst IEL has taken and completed projects in Roads, Prefabricated Structures, conventional government buildings it has been focused on its core business which is EPC for water treatment, supply and distribution.
- IEL is now putting immense focus and attention to secure irrigation orders as it has built a core team specializing in irrigation.
- IEL prefers to not enter too many different states of India and has developed key relationships in Bihar, MP and Maharashtra. Therefore, the new projects being identified are within these 3 States. However, there are immense opportunities outside of these states also and should the management decide it is suitable to enter those states then that will also be carried out.
- Till date IEL has completed all the projects it has been awarded (other than the projects under progress) has never had any bank guarantee invoked, been blacklisted or abandoned any project. IEL has a completely clean track record over the last 12 years.
- IEL has a very strong technical engineering team that has been built in the last 12 years. It has a very strong execution team with project managers with immense experience who can carry out works and do all liasonings with the upmost efficiency, quality and care.
- IEL has a very strong success ratio of tenders bid versus contracts awarded. Our strike rate is in excess of 90%. We bid in tenders where we know we have a very strong competitive edge and are therefore able to ensure success.
- IEL due to its very skillful and assessed bidding processes IEL are always awarded contracts above the scheduled rate to ensure profit maximization. IEL has always had an order book quantum as per their requirement and funding capability. IEL has never had to bid so competitively reducing its margins in order to secure an order book.
- IEL has bid a lot of projects in Joint Ventures only for technical qualifications, however that is just for nominal royalty to the joint venture partner as all the work form the JV is contracted to IEL directly.
